update + patreon status

been a while since i posted a public update, so i figured i'd shoot up a post showing off some of what i've been working on. sex, sex, sexy sex. incomplete sex, but still sex. so yes, that means no comments about the gravity-defying hair please and thank you. the scene is implemented ingame and fully voiced, but that update won't be posted for a while so you'll just have to be patient <3

in other news, i'm starting a Patreon profile! for those of you who've never heard of it, Patreon is a magnificent website that functions sort of like Kickstarter, but rather than setting an end date for funding, it's delivered on a per-update (or monthly) basis. this means you can sign up to donate $1, $5, $10, or any number you choose to a creator - and every time they post an update (or the month comes to an end,) you'll gain access to said update and your pledge will be sent to them automatically. you gain access to reward tiers based on the amount you offer (the cheapest usually being just $1) and you can cancel your pledge or change the amount at any time. it's fucking great. personally, i'll be using the per-update model, as i feel it's more fair to the people pledging, ensuring i won't be getting your money if i'm not delivering any updates.

my hope for this is that it will be more convenient for people who want to donate, as well as cheaper, and that it can bring me one step closer to making a living off of Crisis Point and future projects. the semi-negative is that, to make pledging worthwhile, once the Patreon campaign starts, i won't be updating here or on ulmf as frequently. the good news is that the basic reward tier will be only $1, and gets you access to all the basics: namely, the newest updates and information on development. hopefully you guys will understand why i'm choosing to do this. i'd love to make the development of these games a priority for me, and Patreon is a fantastic and user-friendly way for me to make that happen.

so yeah. yadda yadda crowdfunding and all that. progress on Crisis Point is proceeding steadily, mostly working on a lot of behind the scenes stuff you guys wouldn't find all that interesting like level transitions, world map design, enemy coding, etcetera etcetera. so while i work on all that jazz, you sit here and enjoy the animation! really happy with the way her tits turned out, myself.

  1. Yea, in an earlier post i mentioned i thought the nipples looked weird, but they look better here, so its really just the angle for your style that didn't match up there it seems. Looking great, hope patreon works for you!

  2. Really liking the enemy design as well as the pose. The animation is nice and fluid. You're really coming along quite nicely!

I'm looking forward to more updates as you progress. Even if it's something to do with the more technical side of how you're making your game.

Plus I can't wait to see climax animations!

  3. Replying to your reply in the other update: her but DOES look flat when running/walking. Now, if we are going to be anatomically correct, her proportions aren't completely accurate, since her legs also look shorter than average human's, but since it gives her a very personal look i never considered to mention that :P.

Anyway, i sent you a mail with image samples for you to check, please look at the addresses you have in this blog. I really took my time to provide you with good references, so please accept them as a way to help you improve the desing instead of a lame whining hehehehe.

Best kind regards, keep up the good work, it will be worth it in the end :D

    2. dude.. seriously..? in the email you sent me, you're complaining about the proportions on the old character design. i completely redrew and replaced that already, LITERALLY a month ago. if you just take three seconds to compare the sprite you're complaining about to the new animation i posted just up there, you'll see about a thousand differences. her hair is more detailed, her color scheme is entirely changed, her ass is bigger, her proportions have changed slightly. EVERYTHING is different. her original ass was flat as hell, i know that, that's why i already redesigned it and fixed her and now she actually has an ass..

and regardless of her ass size, i'm not trying to make her 100% proportionate to real life. there's not enough room in a sprite of this size to perfectly imitate that, and the beauty of a drawing is that it doesn't have to adhere 100% to real life standards if it still looks good. if i shrunk her head like you suggested, there would be no room for facial detail and her expressions wouldn't be nearly as easy to see. i'm not going to go and update every single animation to give myself less room for detail, keeping proportions isn't worth it if it means there's no room for the necessary detail, that's why a lot of games with smaller sprites (like Kyrieru's work) have oversized heads. it would be a waste of time to change everything now, nothing's broken, there's no reason to "fix" it.

    3. Different Anon here, as someone who doesn't draw I can slightly see the proportions are a bit off but as you said, having a bigger head allows that extra space to show expressions, plus it's a game. It doesn't really need to be that accurate to life... I mean, she's being raped by 2 blue monster things. I like the art style myself.

    4. Dude, Seriously? Yes, Seriously!. Look, the naked "sample" was taken from the blog AFTER comparing the proportions between the current sprite and the former.. i figured you would notice i used it only to save screenshooting time.. turns out i was wrong. As per the running one, i also compared with the demo before using it.

I NEVER complained about the "cartoonish" design, i actually like it, it was you who talked about human proportions and then i replied back.

The butt is plain flat IN THE DEMO ITSELF, and i stick to that opinion. If you wanna be stubborn and use the "outdated sprites" argument to deny it is up to you.

I tryed to provide some support on aspects that whether you like it or not matter on graphical design. But it's your game, it's your wrong opinion and it's your plank girl. So be it, so much for providing ideas.

    5. i already updated her sprites. if you're going to complain about them and tell me her ass is flat, use the updated ones. don't tell me "you should have known i was still talking about the updated design" when you use a horribly outdated sprite that looks like shit compared to the new one. that's just plain fucking stupid, and the blame for it falls squarely on YOUR shoulders, not mine. and i fail to see how it "saves screenshotting time" to use the old one when that means you had to go backwards a few pages to find that sprite, despite the updates being closer to the front page. lying to me doesn't exactly work well with your argument.

her ass is not flat. end of story. you're LITERALLY the only person who has ever complained about her ass being flat since i updated it. 1 opinion compared to several dozen? you're the odd one out, not me. it's YOUR wrong opinion and it's YOUR damn problem if you're going to lash out at me and try to tell me that i'm straight up wrong despite the overwhelming information to the contrary.

feel free to have your opinion. if you think her ass is too small, that's fine, i really don't care - but stop shoving your opinions in my face as fact. you're not a be-all-end-all of ass size; in this case you're clearly in the minority, yet you kept shoving it in my face over and over and over no matter how many times i said i disagree. that's just plain rude. you passed the point of critique and 'providing ideas' a long time ago, at this point you're just being rudely persistent and demanding that i listen to you and do what you want.

thank you for your opinion. now think about these facts: it's my game. my character design. my sprites. my girl's ass. you got a problem with me not listening to every word you say? the exit button is right up there.

    1. deleted that post on the virtue of you acting like an overwhelming douche after i turned you down. feel free to give legitimate criticisms in the future if you'd like, but the rude insults aren't welcome.

    2. Fair enough, but i will not be a douche again if you agree you won't use lame arguments like "sprites outdated" when it does not support your statements nor will you refute a reply that proves wrong your own arguments. Deal?

I'll keep providing opinions via private message, i rather say something with graphical data than plain texts.

By the way.. that planky-panky stuff was funny, you gotta accept that :P

    3. not really. it was a rude way to lash out, i didn't find it funny.

and i wouldn't refute a reply that proves my arguments wrong. yours didn't, plain and simple. "sprites outdated" isn't a lame argument when you showed me outdated sprites. expecting me to magically know you were talking about the newer ones, when you showed me the older ones, isn't my fault.

  5. So about the Patreon profile, do we have a link and I just missed it or is it still in the process of being made? Either way liking the animation I see.

    1. sorry lol, that's the second time someone asked so i guess i could have explained it better.

i'm still working on the patreon page, fine-tuning it and trying to make sure rewards are priced right and interesting, there's enough info on the project to get people's interests, etc. if you have any suggestions for rewards you would like to see, let me know!

    2. If you mean rewards like with kickstarter, I still like the idea of custom positions or enemies, perhaps picked from a list of monsters/actions you yourself are fine with but let them pair the two? or concept one for you.

    3. i do plan on having patron-exclusive voting to determine certain enemies and what positions they'll have, things like that. but there won't be any "customizing" the positions in the menu, or anything. i already have enough animating on my plate, i don't want to start adding in extra work for myself that not everybody would even see, lol
