New public update (v.03)

Evening, everybody! Time for another public Crisis Point update!

Now that the control scheme has changed quite a bit, I'll go ahead and list the controls for you all again:

WSAD - Movement, aiming. Rapidly tap to struggle when KO'd/being raped.
K - Jump. Double jump in midair, jump through thin platforms when holding Down (S).
J - Shoot.
L - Diagonal aim button. Forces Alicia to aim diagonally when held, maintains last direction held.
F4 - Switch between fullscreen/windowed.
R - Restart game.
Escape - Quit game.

Unfortunately, my background artist recently left the project, so the art hasn't changed all that much. However, I hope you all enjoy v.03 regardless. I'll leave you with the goals list for this update, as an overview of the major changes that have been made.


UPDATE V.03 CHANGES
-Update shooting animations, poses; add shooting straight down in midair
-Design, animate and prep enemies for combat (slimes)
-Finish planning out progression from start to finish (upgrades + world traversal roadmap)
-Rework controls into WSAD, prepare for customizable controls
-More sex animations (slime)
-Implement health-restoration items
-Draw Alicia's base portrait for conversations
-Create more content (areas)

(The background music playing is temporary. It's called 'Babylon,' and is composed by Kevin MacLeod. You can find it at http://incompetech.com/. I'm just using it to give you an idea of what the music style I'm going for is, until I can compose my own or hire a musician.)

One last note before I head off. Does anybody really follow this blog anymore? The comment numbers have been dwindling like crazy ever since I started the Patreon campaign - less than 10 comments each post, including mine. I know a lot of you are lurkers, so if you're still interested in me keeping the blog up to date, please let me know. If not, I'm likely going to stop updating here soon.

  1. i still follow it, im interested in seeing what your gunna do next, i have no idea how to create games like this. really good work! keep it up! i think the issue here is that you should try and at least post a message every week/month to let us know that your still alive! X3

  2. Hey. I found about your project today actually through ULMF. I rarely visit that site or the LoK site. I'll be sure to follow your thread however.

    My question is. Do you post any other info about your project in any other site other than this? (and ulmf, lok and your patreon of course) Just asking so I know where to look if you give up on Blogspot.

    Anyway, your game has lots of potential. It's rare to find games with potential that aren't given up on by the creators.

    1. There's only one other place I update occasionally on, and that's Fenoxo's forum. Patreon and ULMF are by far the two most active places, but I'm going to try and keep this blog updated more often now, as well.

  6. I tend to lurk 97% of the time. I have yet to play the game but you do have my interest. I just like to wait and see how things develop in early stages before I try it for myself. Hope to play the game in the future, thanks for your efforts.

  8. I recommend you keep up to date on your progress in a number of different places. It builds social awareness and audience faster, and blogs tend to act as decent "homebases" of your activities that people gradually focus their attention to once everything is running regularly.

    1. Well, the 'home base' of sorts is the patreon campaign now, considering it runs ahead of everywhere else that I update. Outside of that, though, the thread on ULMF has been by far the most active in terms of community. That's why I was considering dropping the blog.
